From the submitter - I am not sure this really is G-AOSS. Peter Amos took two very similar shots but at Thruxton. In the background another Mosquito in a similar state is visible. By the time G-AOSS was at Burnaston all the Spartan Surveys ones had gone and when I logged it in the summer of 1958 it was the only Mosquito there. I am sure this is one of the three which were scrapped at Thruxton in about 1958. Maybe someone painted G-AOSS on the fuselage thinking it really was 'OSS ? One of Peter's shots is defintely at Thruxton and the background of the other doesn't look like Derby to me. Also, when G-AOSS was scrapped at Derby there were other aircraft in the dump area. Ansons, Marathons etc, and those do not show in this picture.
